Teatr Lalek (literally 'Theatre of the Dolls') is best known by English speakers as The Wroclaw Puppet Theatre. It was established in 1946, principally as a childrens' enterntainment theatre, which also toured the villages of Lower Silesia. Adults should note however that performances these days are a tad more sophisticated than Sooty and Sweep - more recent shows include interpretations of the works of Goethe, Shakespeare, Schulz and Kafka no less. Incidentally our editor was once invited to a performance here by a nice young lady... In the end though he had to tell her he prefers his dates with no strings attached. Boom boom!
