The National Museum is an impressive three-floored home to one of the largest collections of Polish art. However it only really becomes interesting when you leave the religious-themes of Silesian art behind and get up onto the third floor where you will be challenged by a diverse selection of contemporary art. Expect the weird and wonderful! The museum also comes complete with its own army of attendants, and the sound of their footsteps on the creaking floorboards is never far away as they ensure you don't take a photo on their patch - without having bought the special pass first! Entrance is free with your Raclawice Panorama ticket so spend the 15 zloty you have saved in the pretty cafe on the first floor.
"I found this museum to be OK but certainly nothing special, and the staff can be really quite uptight and unfriendly. I prefer the museums in Warsaw to be honest, but it was not bad, it has its merit."

"One of the best museums in Poland let alone Wroclaw. Covers many aspects of Polish art and history, and particularly this region of Silesia. Fascinating."

"A jewel of a place - and a bargain with the entry fee from the panorama. Of all places!!- when I visited there was a special exhibit of Netherlandish paintings - with a sweet Bruegel included as a bonus."
