It's no co-incidence that you'll find this large club out to the East of the city, bang in the middle of studentville. Since opening in 1998, Alibi has provided a great excuse for many an badly-behaved academic to indulge in a night of pure mayhem - with barely a second thought for tomorrow's 8 o'clock lecture. Thursday nights are in fact free for scholars, and on Fridays and Saturdays the lucky so and sos still get a discount. For those who consider themselves too old for such beery antics, keep your eyes out for special events instead. Some big acts, such as Polish raga outfit Vavamuffin, plus international punk rockers UK Subs and The Vibrators, have rocked this venue.
