'Just over there is the only Jewish bar in Wroclaw,' the synagogue attendant proudly informs anyone who will listen, pointing to an unmarked door on the side of the courtyard. 'It's not run by a Jew, mind you,' he might add sheepishly. No matter, Mleczarnia oozes charm and a certain old world romanticism: elegant family portraits, austere tables and intricately-woven table clothes are enough to convince any imbiber that this is the Yiddish Real McCoy. This relaxing and quiet setting is a favourite place for artistic young minds to exchange viewpoints on the heavyweight issues of the day: such as globalisation, the environment, modern science and which is better, McDonalds or KFC...

I lived in Wroclaw- this place is the best any time of day! Breakfast- great- mojitos-handmade Bonus: pay attention for the special music acts that come- so good!

Very old school place. Popular between locals. Lot's of people in the evening. Open very early in the morning!

Still probably the best bar / pub in Wroclaw. Went there about 3 years ago and again last week. Still buzzing.

another "don't miss it" place in Wroclaw, beauty building with several floors, bohemian and comfortable, you can have a great relax time with friends, good music, highly recommended!

I make sure to grab a drink here everytime in town for business - I can get so sick of all those corporate places!! I just want to relax and feel bohemian for 1 hour :)

they also have a hostel - both are great. makes me miss krakow though - its also home to a wonderful mleczarnia locale. pass me a zywiec with ginger syrup and i can sit for hours :)

My friend took me there and I must say I really enjoyed the place. It took me a good while to find it but - here it is! If you are in Wroclaw just jump in for a pint - you will not regret!

One of the best bars in Wroclaw and very similar to its namesake in Krakow and other Krakow Kazimierz bars like Alchemia. In the warm months there is a great courtyard area. Very laid-back Old World atmosphere - and very highly recommended!

Wroclaw Life update: Mleczarnia has recently opened up a vast basement area more reminiscent of typical modern Polish club than an old world Jewish bar. Whether this has increased Mleczarnia's appeal, making it a much needed party spot for Wroclaw's artsy community, or has taken the edge of its status as a broody romantic cafe, is up to you to decide... Atmospheric gem, dark low lighting, mis matched furniture, great for a Sunday afternoon.....
... wish there were more places like this in Wroclaw....
