Restaurant Spiz

Starting with its location, under the Town Hall on the Main Square, Spiz certainly has a lot going for it. A restaurant and a brewery, beer lovers will be delighted to discover that there are plenty of really delicious local ales on hand. Choose between light, dark and even honey meads! If you're really nuts about hops then you can even bear witness to the process of brewing itself - just ask the friendly staff. Order yourself some Viennese schnitzels or Polish pork knuckles from the international restaurant above, and you've got yourself a solid choice for the evening.

"This restaurant was recommended to us by a Pole as The Place to try Polish cuisine. If that's truly it, the experience was rather disappointing. We were given bread with lard and crackling before our meal. Bread was stale, and lard is just not my thing. For main, we had boar stew and a bowl of pierogi. The presentation was apalling, all sloppy and in shades of grey, but the food was decent enough, if overpriced for what it was. We were also told to check out the bar part of the place, as one of the microbrewery's copper vats was on display there, but had to back out almost immediately, the cigarette smoke was so thick. The whole thing had a rather grotty feel about it. Wouldn't recommend."

"I was there during my last press trip to Wroclaw. They served a lot off Polish traditional food - if you want to try some. If not, they also have a big choice of the international cuisine. No doubts you will find sth for you. Obviously you need to try some beer from their local brewery! Wright in the Rynek next to the fountain ;)"

"Direkt auf dem Rynek. Ein edleres Restaurant, das natürlich seinen Presi hat, aber für das sehr leckere Essen lohnt es sich und ist daher presiwert. Klassisch eingerichtet, her dunkel. Bedienungen geben sich Mühe mit den Touristen."

"Spiz is definitely worth a visit whether your after a nice meal or some very tasty beer you'll get both served here. Only real drawback is it's sometimes difficult to get a table outside becuase it's so popular."
