Sakana Sushi Bar

Wroclaw's first sushi bar, Sakana, is no pale imitation. It's a resoundingly elegant place that looks set to win the punters on its own merits. Sit at the circular bar and the miniature wooden ships will start to sail your way, laden, of course, with all kinds of tempting oriental titbits. We can't promise that you'll leave imbued with the tenets of oriental wisdom, but the chef is confident that you'll be enlightened in the gastronomic realm. All in all Sakana Sushi Bar is a very welcome addition to Wroclaw's culinary orbit.

"I've done Sakana twice, and it's been ht or miss. The first time all the food was fresh, there were some creative dishes coming around, and the waitstaff and sushi chef were really friendly. The second time it was the exact opposite. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but the dishes were rather bland, and both the sushi chefs were none too friendly. When it shines, it's really superb."

"There are a lot of sushi bars in Wroclaw now, but Sakana is still my favorite. Always taste fresha and there's a great selection of beer"

"Agree. Sushi's not easy to do, and there are not that many decent sushi places, especially in Poland. But this one does a good job!"

"Among the best running sushi bars I ever visited. Very stylish setting, polite and professional staff, amazing food and very decent proces. Special sushis are produced on request. Downside: be prepared to wait a while for your Sushi if there are many people and the boss is not there (watch out for the guy in the black apron. He runs the show and it's a pleasure to watch him work)."
