Spice India website

Spice India is the first traditional Indian Restaurant in Wroclaw, and though it opened quite recently, it seems to have already made heads turn (and mouths water). Each of the dishes are prepared by cooks from northern India, using traditional recipes and fresh ingredients, and seasoned to taste, whether that means keeping spices on the mild side, or using enough to set your palate ablaze. Spice India offers a wide range of vegetarian and meat dishes, including lamb, mutton, chicken, fish and shrimp. But the cuisine is just one part of India's draw, and Spice India brings the entire atmosphere of the country to Wroclaw, whether through the Bollywood classics it shows on its screens or the Saturday Indian dancing shows. All in all, the interior and atmosphere in the restaurant allows guests to experience a real taste of India. In addition, the restaurant will happily accommodate both business groups as well as larger gatherings of friends and family.

I went to this place last night based on the positive reviews I had read on Wroclaw Life. When I arrived the restaurant was very dark & extremely quiet. I had to walk around to find a waitress. I asked for a Kingfisher beer and was told they have no Indian beers (in spite of proudly declaring it elsewhere). The menu was very limited. Based on this less than thrilling first impression I ordered a starter (Tandoori chicken). The chicken was dangerously under-cooked. Thankfully I had only eaten one bit before noticing. I went to look for my waitress (again!) to complain. She didn't seem too concerned. She certainly had no appreciation of the dangers of under-cooked chicken and I left the building without so much as an apology. This was the worst food experience I have had in almost 8 years of coming to Poland on a regular basis. I am only giving this place 1/10 because I cannot give it a lower mark. DO. NOT. VISIT.

Came here on Sunday night and tried two different curries this time. For starters we shared lamb seekh kebab and panir tikka which were very tasty, highly spiced and perfect entree to the two curries. We tried the chicken tikka masala and the lamb handi. Consistently good food, and very good staff

Best Indian I've ever tasted. I always go at lunch for their 20zl deals. Service is friendly and attentive. You can see traditional decor. Meals are beautifully presented. Curies could use a little more meat. Best naans in my life, large fresh and flavorsome. Butter chicken is to die for, very authentic not too sweet but lovely tomato flavor. Definatly recommended!

Reserved for a party of 6 , all on time, reasonably fast service. Pleasant surroundings, humorous waiter, great Indian beer, excellent food, superb Naan bread. All in all a great evening. Highly recommended.

My experience was not so positive at this restaurant, the waiter looked like he was ready to fight with me. I had to wait very long for my order to come and I am sure I had better Indian food at other places. Some improvement required here.

We got a very bad waiter who was rude to us, did not take the order properly, got the wrong dish and started arguing in Polish about it though we do not speak Polish. Food was barely edible. Nothing special. For sure I will not go there again.

This is by far a really good and well-established restaurant in Wroclaw. It has plenty of authentic Indian dishes and cooked to excellence! Very good.

As a foreigner with a restaurant here for several years, having never eaten in this restaurant I feel compelled to address the lack of local popularity of a foreign owned restaurant in this city. Vapiano, a widely popular Italian chain, lasted one year in Wroclaw. I was in Berlin a few weeks ago and saw the place completely packed. There are two Vapiano restaurants in Warsawm three in Berlin. Bottom line, the average salaries in Wroclaw are too low compared to the ever rising cost of living caused by an influx of big multinational industry. Most workers for such businesses are not paid salaries anywhere comparative to western countries or capital cities. The other main demographic here, students, are mainly aiming at fast food or big portions at low cost, or they hang in the clubs for nights of beer drinking. Expensive imported spices and ingredients or chefs with such experience are not desired. The first Indian restaurant in Wroclaw, Indus, also lasted one year even with imported Indian chefs. If a restaurant's value is determined by is popularity, McDonalds should be given 3 star Michelin ratings.

I wouldn't want to judge any restaurant too harshly on the strength of a single visit, but is this really a 10/10 establishment? Prompted by the previous, gushing reviews, I visited on a Wednesday night and was underwhelmed. Another negative, suggesting that locals have yet to flock to this subterranean eaterie in numbers, was that I was the only diner in the place. Judge for yourselves.

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talents, new creations. The new needs friends. Last night, I experienced something new; an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine cooking, is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. Spice India, is no doubt, the finest restaurant in Poland. I will be returning to Spice India soon, hungry for more.

Amazing place to go with children. I went their on Sunday with my two kids. The waiter suggested me a special room for children with lot of toys to play with. We enjoyed mixed veg sizzler(big portion with reasonable price) and garlic naan. Good to try Indian beer.Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely recommend this place.

Just went there last week, and it was some of the very best Indian food I have ever eaten, and I'm a big fan of Indian cuisine!! The waiter was really helpful in recommending a great dish to try (wanted something a bit different than I normally get), and the overall service was friendly and fast. Decor was lovely, too, as was the Saturday night belly dancing. I would 110% recommend this place!

I have tried this restaurant and i can tell you all that as a india my self and travelling all around the europe this spice india's food give me very bad food poison. they are lucky not in uk. otherwise helth people would be lock the place up. chicken spinish like a green curry very bad quality spices they are using and all fake food dont even have chatney tray or proper papadum, not even jalfrazi. this is not real indian food. they need to come and try some indian restaurant in manchister or birminghum, even culcutta, delhi, bombay. before they called them self a indian restaurant.
