Akropolis Restaurant

If the name didn't give it away beforehand then the blue and white awning surely did? So no prizes then for guessing that Akropolis is a Greek restuarant. Well-placed on the Plac Solny, Akropolis is of Wroclaw's more upmarket venues and its elegant patrons are offered a choice of outdoor seating, overlooking the square, or a place inside, where hanging vines, brightly-painted Mediterranean landscapes, and even a burgeoning lemon tree help conjure up some Greek character. Finally a couple of huge ceramic urns in the corner offer the cheekier amongst you a perfect opportunity to ask the waitress about her jugs!

"I made a reservation by phone for a big group of people on a week day. It was a celebration. When we got there, nothing. Nobody had registered my call, nothing was ready, the waiters didn't offer us the possibility to set tables for us right then and there and were very rude to us. Disgraceful!"

"I've been here twice, the food is ok, nothing particularly special as far as Greek food goes, but great for Greek in Wroclaw. Service was so so, waitstaff speaks English well, plus points there. Fairly pricey for what you get. Expect to part with 130zl for two with starters and wine."

"Posher than the joints on the main square, certainly. Better is another question altogether. The atmosphere is more elaborate, but the food itself although not "horrible" does not deserve the extra you get charged compared to other places just round the corner."

"Great Greek food! The best moussaka I've ever had. I also found a wonderful wine, Imiglykos. I liked it so much I went a second time on my visit to Wroclaw."

"Very laid back, sophisticated atmosphere, and food was good too. Bit posher than the joints on the main square. Not sure about the waiter though, he was kind of creepy!"
