Polish Doctors Save Iraqi Girl

Polish doctors from Wroclaw were called on to perform a live-saving operation on ten-month-old baby girl, Jannat from Iraq. Jannat is lucky enough to have a grandfather who works as a translator for the Polish army in Iraq and it was Polish troops, keen to help, who organised for the girl to be flown to Wroclaw for a complicated heart operation that could not be performed in her native city of Baghdad.

Without the operation Jannat was expected to live for just two to three years, as she was born with a dangerous heart defect. However following the procedure which the doctors successful carried out yesterday her family can expect her to live a long and healthy life!
