Salvador Dali in Wroclaw
Sculptures by the master of the surreal, Salvador Dali, are not what you expect to see when you go shopping in Lower Silesia, but nonetheless retail therapists in Wroclaw are in for a surprise.
As of earlier this month, one of Dali's most famous works - Profile of Time - was unveiled in Wroclaw Arcade Shopping Centre, after being purchased by LC Corp, the firm which built the mall.
The statue, which features a melted clock over a crutch (two recurrent symbols in Dali's work) measures four metres high and weighs 1300 kg. In 2011 it will be moved to in front of the yet-to-be-built Sky Tower, which will be the highest residential building in Poland when it opens in that year.
