Still Affected by World War II

As a former battleground in World War II, Wroclaw is still occasionally affected by the remains of its history and the battles fought on its ground.

Yesterday December 10th, a huge unexploded bomb was found in Wroclaw's city centre resulting in the evacuation of 2000 locals from the neighboring schools, offices, and residences. A bomb squad was called in after road workers came upon the one tonne explosive. After several hours of careful work, the bomb was successfully dug out and transported by disposal experts to a testing range for detonation. Luckily there were no injuries on the scene.
