Get Ready for the Church Nights!

You may be famimilar with the popular "Nights of Museums" event which takes place in cities all over Europe. Wroclaw however, is putting a new spin on the concept. Instead of opening the doors of museums, the Nights of Churches (June 19th & 20th) open the doors of Wroclaw's many religious institutions with discussions, concerts, markets, and more.

Polish speakers might be interested in the many discussions taking place across the city's churches, on such topics as "Women in the Church" or "Wroclaw - Microcosmos". Putting language barriers aside are the many concerts taking place over these two nights. Here are two highlights:

June 19th at 9pm
St. Elizabeth's Church
ul. sw. Elzbiety 1/2
The Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a world pre-premiere of Francesco Bottigliero's Wroclaw dedicated Cantata Tumska.

June 20th at 9:30pm
St. Maximilian Kolbe Church
ul. Horbaczewskiego 20
The Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra along with Gaudium Wroclaw University Choir will perform the Egmont Overture by Beethoven.

Other highlights of the two-day event include the free entrance to churches and religious spaces that are typically closed to the public such as the crypt in the Wroclaw Cathedral or the Convent of the Ursuline Sisters.

Also, don't miss the Cistercian market of food and crafts made by the sisters of the convent and students of local Catholic schools. The market will take place on both days in front of the St. Elizabeth Church.
