New Year’s Eve in Wroclaw

There are countless options for celebrating the arrival of the twenty-teens (or however you choose to call the upcoming decade) in Wroclaw, but apart from the usual parties at restaurants and clubs, the city also puts on a free public bash on the Market Square downtown.

This year, two Wroclaw-based bands will perform - Lady Perfect and Optymistic. An elaborate fireworks display (from three points downtown) will illuminate the sky for twenty minutes starting at the stroke of midnight. The party starts at 9:30pm.

The other big bash in Wroclaw, though this one is unfortunately not free, is the huge “I Love New Year” party at Hala Stulecia (Centennial Hall - ul. Wystawowa 1). Starting at 7pm (and going all night), house and trance lovers will have a chance to greet 2010 with some of Europe’s top DJs in this massive venue. Tocadisco, Marcel Woods, Daniel Kandi, Oliver Lang, Sean Tyas, and Alex Morph will each spin a set alongside Polish DJs Inox and Mike Wind.

Tickets range from the standard price (114 zloty) to the Deluxe package (420 zloty).

I am going to I Love New Year with my friends from uni and I can't wait!! It's going to be a huge bash, and compared to similar things in Germany Holland or Spain the price is soo cheap!
