Polish President dies in Plane Crash

The Polish President Lech Kaczynski, along with at least 87 other Government dignitaries, has died during a failed landing attempt of the Polish Presidential jet at an airport in Smolensk. Details are unclear at the moment, but latest reports suggest the pilot may have made several attempts to land in heavy fog prior to the crash, and may have ignored recommendations from air traffic control to divert to Minsk, where meteorological conditions were better, and airport facilities more advanced to aid navigation during landing.
