Celtic have finally got their man, after the Polish international and Wisla Krakow striker Maciej Zurawski put pen to paper on a three year deal.
Zurawski, a national hero and Wisla favourite, had expressed an interest in moving abroad for sometime and had been courted by English, Italian and Turkish teams.
In the end though it was Celtic who appealed most to the 29-year-old, and the deal was done after he passed a medical in Glasgow and a 2 million pound fee was agreed with Wisla.
Gordon Strachan was delighted with his new signing, who has scored 20 or more goals in the last four seasons for Wisla and last season scored 7 goals in 6 UEFA cup appearances.
Zurawski himself spoke of his joy at a move that was in some doubt following the strong interest from Turkey and difficulties between the clubs over cash.
The 29-year-old said: "I'm happy just to be here. I'm not sure if I was worried whether this move would happen or not - all I know is I'm pleased things have worked out.
"I will go back to Poland now and then travel to London on Sunday or Monday to join the squad for pre-season training."
