Thousands of Guitarists Attempt World Record
Thousands of guitarists gathered at Wroclaw's Market Square last weekend as part of the Thanks Jimi festival in an attempt to break their own world record for largest guitar ensemble.
Last year the world record was officially set with 6346 guitarists registered at the event, performing Jimi Hendrix's classic "Hey Joe". This year, only 4597 participants showed up at the now-legendary event falling significantly short of the previous world record.
The group was led by the festival's organizer and local musician Leszek Cichonski as well as former Genesis member Ray Wilson on vocals.
