Dalai Lama to Visit Wroclaw
It has been confirmed, the Dalai Lama will again visit Wrocław on 22 September. Although details about his activities have not yet been confirmed, His Holiness will spend two days in our city probably meeting, greeting and giving lectures as he has done in the past. During his last visit in December 2008 he became an honorary citizen of the city and expressed his desire to return some day. An accidental meeting at the Warsaw airport between His Holiness and Rafał Dutkiewicz, Wrocław’s president, last year became the catalyst for this event. Mr. President invited him to come back to Wrocław but due to the Dalai Lama’s international popularity it made it difficult to determine if, in fact, he would accept the invitation. Eventually, an official answer was sent from His Holiness’s office; out of 85 invitations, he chose to revisit Wrocław.
His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is both the head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet.
