Poland Raises Millions at Charity Drive

A record-breaking 40 million zloty (approximately 9 million euro) has been raised as part of Poland's annual Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOSP) fundraiser. This year was the 20th edition of WOSP, and saw the drive raising money for hospital equipment to benefit premature babies and expecting mothers with diabetes.

The fundraiser is led by tens of thousands of volunteers across the country who collect donations and hand out the trademark WOSP red heart stickers that many wear on their lapel. Celebrities also donated towards the cause, including retired ski jumping champion Adam Malysz who donated a Porsche rally car.

Concerts and performances took place across Poland on the final night of the drive - January 8. In Wroclaw, Polish band Lady Pank performed a concert on the Old Town's Market Square.
