Berlin, July 5, IRNA - Another referee has been arrested in Poland on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the corruption affair over a series of match-rigging scandals, DPA reported.

The accused is supposed to belong to a group of referees and football federation officials who fixed first and second division game results "after orders were placed", the Polish News Agency PAP quoted a police spokesman as saying.

The prosecutor's office in the Polish town of Wroclaw started its probe of the corruption affair last year.

Two referees, several officials of a club and the President of the Polish team Gornik Zabrze were already arrested last week.

Four former football players are also standing trial in Wroclaw as part of the match-fixing scandal which according to the prosecutor's office began in 2000.
