Scots Criticised for Off-kilter Humour

It seems the good citizens of Wroclaw have been unimpressed with the views on the Rynek recently, as groups of Scottish stag parties have been going around in a drunken lather lifting up their kilts to all and sundry.

Stags in Krakow and Warsaw have already garnered a bad reputation for the Brits, and now that reputation could extend to Wroclaw as the Lower Silesian capital joins its fellow Polish cities on the hot destinations list.

Not necessarily a good thing, as the poor Wroclawians have just discovered. Outrage at the rambunctious Scots' behaviour even had reaction calls for the banning of kilts in the city - a ban however which the police have stated would be unenforceable.

Nonetheless in the face of outcry from Poland's conservative element the Police have promised to keep partying stags in line - so a word of warning to British tourists, you might want to behave a little better than you might otherwise. Being locked in the drunk tank for the night might make a good story, but probably won't make a good experience!

Over the years Scotland and Poland have enjoyed excellent relationships, and in fact many young Poles happily ply their trade in the Highlands today. Let's hope good relations aren't soured by a joke that simply isn't considered funny by most on the continent...
