Also known as the Dwor Polski (Polish Court), the Hotel Salve is one of the oldest joints in town, dating back to the 16th Century, when it was the rumoured secret meeting place of King Sigismund III and his future wife, Anne of Habsburg. With history as romantic as that, you're no doubt expecting to find an enchanting old house fashioned from wooden floor boards and ancient oak beams, with coats of armour and broadswords hanging from the walls. You won't be disappointed! And whilst that might be fun in the foyer, you'll be pleased to know that the rooms are less medieval with mini-bars, satellite television and internet connection as standard. Meanwhile the various restaurants and cafes of the Dwor Polski are renowned Wroclawian faves, each set in an individual and atmospheric environs.
