Hotel Vincent

If you're looking for a place to stay in Wroclaw with plenty of comfort and character then Hotel Vincent (also known as the Vincent Apartments) should be top of your hit list. This historic tenement building from the 14th Century boasts five spacious suites that can sleep between one and six people each. Each apartment is named after a famous Silesian painter from the 19th Century and, although they are all individually decorated, they share some common features like wooden floorboards, tapestried rugs, and luxurious king-sized beds. All this charm comes complete with modern comforts too, with kitchen, bathroom, satellite TV and phone as standard. The restaurant downstairs is also top-notch! Marvellous value for money. I've been all over central and eastern europe and this is the best accommodation I've found. I stayed in a two storey 'country cottage' style apartment with oak beams, varnished floorboards and all mod cons. It worked out at about £40 a night. In the UK that would get you a fleapit of a Bed and Breakfast. Ideally situated by some great bars (especially Niebo) and 2 minutes from the Old Town square. The chap who runs it is really helpful and the building also has a fantastic cafe and separate restaurant. If you're going to Wroclaw (and you should, it's a great place) I would strongly recommend you stay here. I will certainly be back.
